Capital Campaign The Power of Giving
The current goal of the Friends Academy Capital Campaign is to raise funds for construction of the school’s fourth and final structure: the Commons Building. Donations of money, time, or gifts-in-kind are needed and most graciously accepted. Please consider giving to the campaign. Through your generosity, completion of the Commons Building would help us to better meet the needs Commons Building Floor Plan of our students by providing a gymnasium, auditorium, cafeteria and library. We would be able to hold indoor physical education classes, sporting events, book clubs, after-school programs and even a school play!

The Commons Building would not only provide the physical space necessary to accomplish all of these activities and more, but it would also enable our school to congregate as a community, both during and after school hours.

Raising Funds, Having Fun
Since the very beginning, the Development Committee’s goals have been two-fold: to raise money for the school’s Capital Campaign, and have fun while doing it! Their vision has succeeded. So far, the Capital Campaign has raised more than $200,000 toward construction of the Commons Building. The Development Committee’s first event for this year is an evening at Barnes & Noble where students will perform for parents and other shoppers. This very special fundraiser not only provides an opportunity for families to come together to socialize and shop, but also raises a significant amount of money for the Commons Building.

In December, we will hold a Festival of Trees event. This promises to be an enjoyable evening with dinner, music and an array of holiday trees and centerpieces, decorated by the various classes, that can be purchased to support the school.

A spring auction is in the works, with a variety of wonderful items on which guests can bid. This event, too, is always a lot of fun and not one to be missed.

The PTO will join with the Development Committee to host our annual Family Fun Fair in the late spring. This event fosters fellowship among our school families and the school community as a whole. It features food, music, fun and games.

All of these events help to bring our “Friends Family” together so we can work toward our shared goal of helping Friends Academy grow.

Benches & Pavers
In addition to our many successful events and the 2007-2008 Annual Giving Campaign, our Capital Campaign receives funding through the sale of Meeting Square Benches and outdoor Bricks that line our walkways. If you would like to purchase a Bench or Brick Paver in honor or memory of a loved one or friend, please contact the Business Office at 609-267-8198, ext. 103.

There are so many ways that Friends Academy parents and volunteers have helped our school in the past and will help us in the future. We would like to thank everyone for their participation and support. If you would like more information about becoming a member of the Development Committee please contact Steve Feigeles, parent and Clerk of the Development Committee, at 609-680-2372 or sf7399@comcast.net.
